Restaurant Equipment Online Limited

1. Scope of Commercial Freight Logistics

RESTAURANT EQUIPMENT ONLINE LIMITED coordinates specialized heavy freight transport for commercial foodservice appliances, including refrigeration units, thermal cooking suites, pass-through dishwashers, and stainless steel fabrication. Due to the high mass, structural dimensions, and sensitive refrigeration circuits of commercial equipment, all consignments move through vetted commercial carriers.

2. Delivery Types & Receiving Protocols

Unless explicitly contracted under a formal turnkey installation agreement, standard wholesale deliveries are classified as Commercial Kerbside / Loading Dock Deliveries:

  • Tail-Lift Truck Dispatch: For facilities without dedicated loading docks or forklift capabilities, transport vehicles equipped with hydraulic tail-lifts are dispatched.
  • Kerbside Drop Point: Drivers lower palletized crates to flat, paved street-level surfaces immediately adjacent to delivery vehicles. Drivers are not authorized to maneuver equipment through internal building corridors, up stairs, or onto mezzanine floors.
  • Site Access Verification: Clients must confirm that access ways accommodate large rigid trucks (up to 12.5 meters in length) with adequate turning radii and height clearances (minimum 4.2m).

3. Transit Schedules & Dispatch Lead Times

Destination Region Standard Transit Time Carrier Classification
Auckland Metropolitan 1 – 2 Business Days Direct Local Courier / Dedicated Metro Truck
North Island Regional (Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington) 2 – 4 Business Days Linehaul Freight Carrier
South Island Main Hubs (Christchurch, Dunedin) 3 – 6 Business Days Inter-Island Rail & Ferry Linehaul
Rural & Remote NZ Locations 5 – 8 Business Days Specialized Regional On-Forwarder

4. Consignment Inspection & Receiving Sign-Off

Upon arrival of any commercial equipment consignment, the receiving party is legally required to conduct an immediate external inspection prior to signing the carrier's proof of delivery (POD) docket:

  1. Inspect Packaging: Verify crate timber, strapping bands, and protective shrink-wrap for any signs of forklift tines impact, lateral compression, or tilting.
  2. Note Exceptions on POD: If any packaging damage is visible, the receiver MUST write "DAMAGED PACKAGING - SUBJECT TO INTERNAL INSPECTION" on the driver's electronic or paper docket.
  3. Report Timeframe: Concealed transit damage must be formally documented with photographic evidence and reported to our Auckland office within 48 hours of physical receipt.
